Pigeon Island Beach Resort

Pigeon Island Beach Resort is a luxury boutique hotel on a secluded beach in Nilaveli, north of Trincomalee on the East coast of Sri Lanka.
Nilaveli is known the world over for its soft, white sandy beaches, mixed with mineral-rich black sand unique to this coastal strip. Colourful coral reefs, warm blue-ocean and sunshine are thrown in, free of charge!
The décor of the hotel is minimalistic, with a few pieces of curios, like old wooden door frames and an Elephant carved in the Dutch period. (4 centuries ago)

Environment

We take environmental conservation very seriously. We house three water treatment plants, one which purifies the water used in the hotel. The second treatment plant is for the swimming pool, while the third is a refinery plant used to treat sewage water which is then re-used for the trees and plants in the hotel compound. Our hotel staff even organize regular beach clean ups, because our environment is EVERYTHING to us.
